AJ Lewis Center for Environmental Studies at Oberlin College, Ohio
21.SEP.2001
On our way back from Inn Serendipity in Wisconsin, Worth and I stopped at Oberlin to tour the AJ Lewis Center. It was designed by revolutionary architect William McDonough, and built using non-toxic materials from recycled or sustainable sources. Where possible, building materials were sourced locally - including the compressed-straw acoustic panels in the auditorium. Before we left, we were encouraged to, ahem, feed the living machine. Check out their website for a more in-depth description.
